Live well. Feel at home. • Two flexible live-in care pathways
Livenza • A more personal way to find live-in care

Live well. Feel at home.

We find the right people. You choose the right person.

Qualifications and experience matter. But so does the connection. The person you welcome into your home needs to feel right for you.

We check carers’ credentials, relevant training and experience, then consider personality, routines and compatibility. We share the information, introduce the people we believe could be a good match, and leave the final decision where it belongs — with you.

You speak to them. You get to know them. You decide.

Our philosophy

It has to feel right.

Care is personal. A great match starts with the right experience and qualifications, but it succeeds through trust, familiarity and connection. We never want you to feel that you have to accept someone simply because they are available.

01 / We check

Carefully considered carers

We review relevant credentials, training and experience and understand the practical support you need.

02 / You connect

Get to know each other

We share the available information and help you speak to potential carers, so you can decide whether the relationship feels right.

03 / You decide

Your home. Your choice.

We suggest suitable people, but the final choice is yours. The right personal fit can matter just as much as professional experience.

CQC Care

From £1,250 / week*

For people and families who would prefer professional oversight of the care package. We introduce you to preferred CQC-registered providers and explain their services and charges.

  • A registered manager and care team plan and oversee care
  • Ongoing reviews, care planning, supervision and quality monitoring
  • Support with changes to care needs, risks and daily routines
  • Clear provider accountability and agreed cover arrangements
  • A compatible, appropriately skilled live-in carer

*Indicative starting price. Final fees depend on assessment, level of support and provider. The chosen CQC-registered provider contracts with you and remains responsible for regulated care. Livenza itself is not presented as the registered provider.

What makes a great match?

Beyond the certificates, there has to be a spark.

A live-in carer isn't a visitor who pops in for an hour. They're sharing someone's home, routines, stories and everyday moments. Experience and training matter — but so do warmth, humour and genuine connection.

Why home matters

There's something powerful about staying home.

We believe that when someone can remain safely and happily at home, they should have every opportunity to do so. Familiar surroundings, meaningful routines, independence and personal choice all matter.

Evidence and national guidance support person-centred care that helps people maintain independence. Whether home is the right setting depends on individual needs, safety, preferences and the support available.

Choice and independence

NICE recommends supporting what people can and want to do, with care shaped around their goals, rather than a one-size-fits-all model.

The right relationship

NICE recommends continuity with familiar care workers, and matching workers not only by skills but, where possible, by interests and preferences. That is why the personal connection matters so much to us.

Support to stay at home

The NHS explains how paid home carers can help people continue living independently, with flexible arrangements to suit their circumstances.

What research has explored

A 2024 BMJ systematic review examined 129 studies with 74,946 participants on ways to sustain independence in older people. Personalised plans and combinations of support showed promise, although results and certainty varied.

Read the BMJ review

The evidence supports individualised, safe care and promoting independence; it does not show that home care is universally safer or better than residential care. A needs and risk assessment can help determine the best setting.

Helpful answers

Questions families often ask

What is the difference between independent and CQC live-in care?

Independent care means you or your representative choose and direct the carer. Livenza helps with the introduction and can offer a PAYE administrative arrangement. With CQC care, the chosen CQC-registered provider oversees care delivery, reviews and quality through its registered manager and team.

Are carer match and PAYE support separate services?

No. They are two payment arrangements under our independent live-in care pathway: pay the carer directly, or ask about a PAYE administration arrangement.

What does the pricing on enquiry introduction fee include?

A tailored carer search, suitability checks and introductions. We offer one replacement introduction at no extra introduction fee when requested within eight weeks, subject to written terms and candidate availability.

Does paying the carer directly make them self-employed?

Not automatically. Employment status depends on the genuine working arrangement. We explain what to consider and recommend appropriate professional advice on tax, employment and insurance responsibilities.

Is independent live-in care regulated by the CQC?

An introduction-only agency with no ongoing direction or control of personal care generally does not need CQC registration. Independent families direct care themselves. The CQC service is provided by a separately identified CQC-registered provider.

Does a live-in carer work 24 hours a day?

No. A live-in carer resides in the home but needs agreed breaks, rest periods and an appropriate plan for night-time assistance, holidays and cover.

Is staying home always the best choice?

Not in every circumstance. Safety, complexity of care, the home environment and personal preference all matter. We can help you consider which live-in arrangement may be suitable and when further professional assessment is appropriate.
